I’ve been using Wagner’s Black Oil Sunflower seeds for several weeks now, and the bird activity in my yard has noticeably increased. Here is a breakdown of why this specific bag stands out:Seed Quality: The seeds are plump and have a high oil content, which is essential for birds needing high-energy fuel during colder months or nesting seasons. Unlike cheaper "wild bird mixes," this bag isn't filled with "filler" seeds like red milo that birds usually just toss on the ground.Cleanliness: I was impressed by how little "trash" (stems, dust, or empty hulls) was in the bag. You’re getting mostly usable product, which means less mess under the feeder.Bird Variety: Since switching to these, I’ve seen a steady stream of Northern Cardinals, Black-capped Chickadees, and even Tufted Titmice. The shells are thin enough that smaller songbirds have no trouble cracking them open.Packaging: The 20lb bag is sturdy and didn't arrive with any punctures, which is always a risk with heavy shipments.Pro-Tip: If you want to avoid a mess on your patio, pair this with a tray feeder or a "catch" tray. While the birds love the seeds, they will leave the black hulls behind!Final Verdict: A high-quality, single-ingredient seed that attracts the "right" kind of birds without the waste of cheaper mixes. Highly recommended for year-round feeding.

I’ve had great luck with these black oil sunflower seeds. The birds took to them right away, and I’ve regularly seen cardinals, finches, chickadees, doves, and other visitors stopping by. The squirrels are also big fans, and even the chipmunks seem happy whenever some seeds end up on the ground. One thing I like is that it’s a simple product without a bunch of extra fillers mixed in. The seeds looked fresh when they arrived, and my backyard critters clearly enjoy them because they never stick around for long. They’re easy to use in my feeder, and I’ve noticed a nice variety of wildlife visiting since I started putting them out.My only real con is the mess from the shells underneath the feeder, but honestly that’s pretty much what I expect with black oil sunflower seeds. The wildlife doesn’t seem to mind, and neither do I.Overall, these have become a staple in my yard and I’ll definitely be buying them again.

Good price on cardinal favorite seed

These are well beloved by finches, sparrows and other strictly seed eating birds. I have never had any other birds come to my feeder but there are no other small seed eating birds in the area so I suppose that makes sense. This bag will last you about a month, but you will have birds in your feeder all day. They love it, so much in fact that they will be clamoring get a faceful, pecking and cheeping until one glorious victor emerges. If you intend to sustain the birds in your area, know that although they are graceful in flight they are not so graceful in demeanor. Also, please note that the discarded shells get everywhere so be careful where you put these seeds.
