“I bought Absorbine UltraShield EX to use on my dog, Walter, after learning that insect repellents intended for humans should not be used on dogs. I live in a coastal area where mosquitoes can be particularly bad, and during mosquito season Walter would sometimes be swarmed by them. At times, I simply couldn't leave him outside because the mosquitoes were so aggressive.This product has made a remarkable difference. A few spritzes on Walter, and the mosquitoes leave him alone. It works exactly as I had hoped.UltraShield EX is relatively expensive, but I have found that it doesn't take much product to be effective, so a bottle should last quite a while when used this way. The scent is noticeable but not overly strong or objectionable.Another pleasant surprise has been Walter's reaction to it. He normally reacts negatively to just about anything being sprayed or squirted on him and will cower when he sees it coming. The first time I used this spray, he wasn't happy about it, either. Now, however, he doesn't seem to mind it at all. I can't know for certain, of course, but I sometimes wonder if he has figured out that the spray is what keeps the mosquitoes from biting him.For me, the real test is simple: before using this product, mosquitoes could make it difficult for Walter to spend time outside. After a few spritzes of UltraShield EX, they leave him alone. It may be expensive, but because I only need to use a small amount at a time and it works so well, I consider it worth the price.”
