“Sharp. They cut cleanly. I had to back off the nut holding them together just a little bit because the spring wasn't strong enough to reopen them. I also used a little bit of oil on them. After that touch up they worked very smoothly and easily. There is a cap on them that is designed to keep you from cutting too deep, but I wouldn't advise you to use it. It is much safer to see how much you are removing. Pay very close attention to the quick within the nail, if you can see it, so that you don't cut too deeply and cause pain and bleeding. The included file is useless. I use a pet nail grinder to round off the edges after a trim and maybe grind them down a little bit more. Grinding is much safer than cutting but you can't grind off a quarter of an inch unless you have all day.”
